Mobile World News Video: Connected Industries - Smart Mobility
On this episode of The Vergecast, we talk a lot about the Ghibli-ification of everything this week. The Verge’s Kylie Robison joins the show to explain OpenAI’s new image generator inside ChatGPT, which is vastly more powerful and accurate than anything the company has released before. It immediately made clear both how interesting and fun these AI tools can be, and how hugely problematic they are both legally and morally. The lawsuits seem to practically write themselves, but it’s still not at all clear where any of this is headed.

Future Technology News Video: OpenAI has a Studio Ghibli problem | The Vergecast
In this episode, we do a Studio Ghibli-like rendition of The Vergecast. First, Nilay and David discuss some big news in the gadget world, from the mysteriously viral midrange Canon camera to the upgrades we're expecting out of Apple in the next few months. Plus, is it over for Amazon's Echo brand? After all that, The Verge's Kylie Robison joins the show to discuss everything happening at OpenAI: the company launched a new image generator inside of ChatGPT, and it immediately became both a huge hit and a big mess. (Par for the course with OpenAI, really.) Kylie also explains why Perplexity is probably not buying TikTok, no matter how much it might want to. Finally, in the lightning round, it's time for everyone's favorite segment, Brendan Carr Is a Dummy, followed by the latest on the Signal attack-planning chaos in the government, some news about Elon Musk pressuring Reddit CEO Steve Huffmann, and what's next for the car industry with huge tariffs looming. Oh, and a little bit of exciting e-bike news. #Vergecast #Podcast #Technology

Future Technology News Video: This 3D printer lasers, cuts wood, engraves metal, draws on paper, and slices vinyl.
This 3D printer lasers things too. Cuts through wood. Engraves metal. Draws on paper. Slices out vinyl shapes. It's the Bambu Lab H2D, the company's first all-in-one modular 3D printer, and it's also got twice the build volume, two alternating nozzles for quicker prints and less wasted plastic, and new filament drying systems. I'm just not sure it's quite finished yet, and it's definitely not cheap!

Technology Media Video: OpenAI is shooting for AGI but landing in Studio Ghibli
According to Bradley Tusk, co-founder and managing partner of Tusk Venture Partners (https://tusk.vc/) , venture capital has been “effectively dead for the last four years." A self-proclaimed “Fixer (https://www.amazon.com/Fixer-Adventures-Saving-Startups-Politics/dp/0525536493) ,” Tusk recently made the decision not to raise a fourth fund. Instead, he decided to go back to his roots and launch an equity-for-services firm aimed at helping early stage startups navigate tech policy and regulation.
Today on Equity (https://techcrunch.com/podcasts/equity/) , Rebecca Bellan sat down with Tusk to explore his pivot from traditional VC to equity-for-services, when it’s worth the risk to ask for forgiveness rather than permission, and why he’s dedicated to scaling mobile voting.
Listen to the full episode to hear more about:
• The limitations of the current VC model and its lack of liquidity.
• How Trump’s tariffs and other measures have spooked the markets.
• Tusk’s experience advising early-stage founders on regulatory climates, including the crucial role he played in Uber’s early growth.
• Insights into his mobile voting project aimed at increasing voter turnout through secure, open-source technology.

Technology Media Video: Inside the Google-Wiz acquisition and the deal's biggest winners
It was on, then off, and welp, now it's on again — and this time for a lot more money. Yep, the Equity podcast dug into Google's $32 billion acquisition (https://techcrunch.com/2025/03/18/google-is-buying-wiz-for-32b-to-beef-up-in-cloud-security/) of cloud security startup Wiz. There was a lot to unpack: the why, the how, what it means.
And of course, there was the "who wins" part. Sequoia is takes home the VC prize for total payout. But another plucky VC out of Israel called Cyberstarts had the largest percentage win. Tune in to find out just how much, plus the crew's other insights on the deal and the breakup fee if it fails.
Listen to the full episode to hear about:
• What Max thought about Nvidia's GTC conference, plus a roundup of the important news from the event
• What the Equity liked, loved, and was wary about with the Klarna IPO (https://techcrunch.com/2025/03/14/profitable-klarna-files-for-a-potentially-blockbuster-ipo/)
• The drama surrounding HR companies Rippling and Deel and an alleged spy
• Waymo's deal to begin mapping the roadways at the San Francisco Airport and what the autonomous vehicle company agreed to.
