The Senate does not advance a bill requiring doctors to provide medical care to an infant that survives an abortion. The 52-47 party-line vote was short of the 60 'yes' votes needed. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) says he does not "second guess" President Trump's decision to pardon more than 1,500 January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol rioters, including those who assaulted law enforcement. New allegations against Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth that he was abusive against his second wife. The Senate Transportation committee unanimously approves Sean Duffy to be Transportation Secretary. White House Budget Director nominee Russell Vought testifies before the Senate Budget Committee. Iran's Vice President for Strategic Planning Mohammad Javad Zarif said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland of President Trump and his previous hardline stance to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, "I hope that this time around, a 'Trump 2' will be more serious, more focused, more realistic."
