President Trump also suggests the blame for the tragedy is diversity initiatives at the Federal Aviation Administration promoted by Democratic administrations that led to lower standards when hiring air traffic controllers. Three of the President's cabinet nominees have Senate confirmation hearings. FBI Director nominee Kash Patel gets questions about whether he would seek to prosecute President Trump's political enemies and whether the president was right to pardon January 6th defendants convicted of assaulting police officers.
