A federal judge puts a temporary hold on President Trump's Executive Order to restrict birthright citizenship, which is U.S. citizenship for anyone born on American soil, saying the order likely violates the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. New allegations against Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth that he was abusive against his second wife. The Senate Transportation committee unanimously approves Sean Duffy to be Transportation Secretary. White House Budget Director nominee Russell Vought testifies before the Senate Budget Committee. Iran's Vice President for Strategic Planning Mohammad Javad Zarif said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland of President Trump and his previous hardline stance to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, "I hope that this time around, a 'Trump 2' will be more serious, more focused, more realistic."
