Thirteen of the president-elect's nominees are scheduled to appear before Senators… Two are scheduled for tomorrow—Georgia Rep. President-elect Trump before the sentencing calls the case a "political witch hunt" to damage his reputation and that the November election result shows the American people agree. We hear from Donald Trump, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass – who decries Donald Trump's attacks on the judicial system – and Judge Juan Merchan, who says, the powers of the presidency are not able to "erase a jury verdict." The Supreme Court hears a challenge to the law banning the TikTok app from the U.S. if Chinese parent company ByteDance does not divest… We hear some of the oral argument and talk with Zach Schoenfeld, The Hill's courts & legal reporter about how the Justices may rule. (20) President Joe Biden gets another update on the response to the wildfires in Los Angeles from Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D) and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell. Labor Department says the U.S. added 256,000 jobs in December and the unemployment rate went down to 4.1 percent.
