Oklahoma school superintendent Ryan Walters announced the newly formed “Office of Religious Liberty and Patriotism.” It follows his agency’s purchase of more than 500 Trump-edition Bibles for use in Advanced Placement Government courses. The move is part of a broader campaign by conservatives to infuse Christian nationalism into public schools, in violation of the First Amendment's Establishment Clause. Conservative Christian groups like the Alliance for Defending Freedom– which helped overturn Roe V. Wade – are behind several cases involving the role of religion in schools.
