A Russia government spokesman says there must be an investigation before determining what caused a deadly crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane, but U.S. officials and aviation experts say the evidence is pointing to a Russian anti-aircraft missile, and operators who mistook the civilian plane for a Ukrainian military drone. Russia's Foreign Minister says his country is ready to talk to the incoming Donald Trump administration about potential solutions to the conflict in Ukraine, and he hopes President Trump will understand what he calls the "root causes". President-elect Trump says he will nominate Kevin Marino Cabrera, a Republican commissioner in Miami-Dade County, Florida, as U.S. Ambassador to Panama. This comes after Donald Trump has been threatening Panama to take back the Panama Canal unless there is a reduction in transit fees. We will hear from the nominee on Latin American policy. Marianne Williamson, former Democratic Presidential candidate, launches a campaign to become Democratic National Committee chair, saying, “I want to help people connect with the political issues that are going on in their lives in a very real and personal way."
