Meet Sham, 7, evacuated from #Gaza to Romania by @WHO with support from the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, for specialized surgery and rehabilitation after an explosion severely injured her leg.
She waited five months for medical evacuation.
Thanks to the Romanian government’s support, Sham has recovered and can walk again.
Approximately, 11,000–13,000 people in Gaza, including 4,500 children, still need medical evacuation.
WHO continues to call for increased approvals through all possible routes, including the restoration of medical referrals to the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The US Administration has been extremely generous over many years, and it is within its rights to decide what it supports, and to what extent.
But the abrupt cuts in funding from the US are putting at risk decades of progress in various health programmes across the world. We ask the US to engage in dialogue with affected countries so plans can be made to transition to more sustainable solutions, without disruptions that cost lives.
We call on other donors and the countries that have relied on US financing to step up -- to the extent they can.
