Namibia contributed US$ 500 000 towards WHO’s Investment Round. Dr Kalumbi Shangula, Minister of Health and Social Services of Namibia announced the commitment: “It is critically important for WHO, which is a Member State driven organization, to be able to carry out its mandate and therefore it is important that Member States nurture their organization.”
The Investment Round, launched by WHO in May 2024, aims to mobilize predictable and flexible resources from a broader base of donors for WHO’s core work for the period 2025–2028. The WHO Investment Case for 2025–2028, All for Health, Health for All, reaffirms that health is an investment, not a cost; that investment in WHO is a prudent investment and a moral imperative, and that it yields healthy results.
