Eight Reasons EVs are the Future of Transportation
EVs can no longer be ignored as the world looks for ways to cut carbon pollution
Around the world, oil has become a dependency. For many, it might be difficult to imagine the world without gas-fueled vehicles. However, this future might not be so far off.Auto Loan Solutions created the below infographic to highlight the ever-growing influence of electric vehicles (EVs). Aside from their economic and environmental benefits, EVs have grown in popularity for several reasons.
The low cost of battery prices, the growing number of charge stations and the benefits of EVs in the industrial sector are all influencers in EVs growing popularity. In fact, these vehicles are becoming so popular that sales forecasts predict EVs will make up 35 percent of new car sales by 2040.
This statistic is no surprise considering Tesla plans to build 1,000,000 EVs by 2020 and Ford has invested $4.5 billion in developing 13 new models by the same year. As well, industrial use of EVs is on the rise, with companies like UPS and Gnewt Cargo using EV fleets.
EVs are an advancement in technology that will meet pollution standards and create a better environment. The International Energy Agency (IEA) referred to EVs as “the heart of future sustainable transportation systems” and “necessary to meet sustainability targets” in their 2016 Global Outlook report.
This revolutionary advancement is necessary to create a sustainable future and these vehicles offer as much power as our current vehicles. New technology has made battery swapping for EVs a simple 5-minute job, and the rising number of charge stations – which currently outnumber gas stations in Japan – point to the importance of EVs, and the convenience they will offer.
