We’re coming up on April and, on top of retail specials, restaurants and fast food chains want to be involved in the hoopla, too. Here’s what ConsumerAffairs was able to find from some of the companies for April Fool's Day, the month of April, and the day of the eclipse, April 8.
Wendy’s
Wendy’s has a couple of things going on for Monday, April 1, 2024. First, there’s the continuation of its March Madness promotion where you can get the Dave’s Single for $1 or the Dave’s Double for $2 via the app.
The other promotion is regional, but could be huge for those lucky enough to get in. At 250 Wendy's locations across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, the first 100 customers who are present in line starting at 2 p.m. and make a purchase will receive a special coupon card for one free Breakfast Sandwich weekly for one year at any participating Wendy's location.
Cheesecake Factory
Cheesecake Factory is being a bit sneaky about how it’s handling April 1. Instead of throwing out blanket promotions to the masses, the company is inserting surprise gifts in the accounts of its app users on April Fools' Day.

White Castle
White Castle is celebrating more than just April 1. The company says the better deals are on its Cravers app, but there are some in-Castle specials, too. Here’s the whole list of what the chain is offering in early April:
April 1 – June 9 via the mobile app: Night Castle 9 p.m. – 3 a.m.: 2 Cheese Sliders small soft drink and choice of 3-piece Cheese Sticks, 6-piece Chicken Ring or medium fries for $4.50 ($5 NY/NJ/AZ/FL).
April 1 – June 9 also via the mobile app: $2 off a sack of fries.
April 1 – June 9 at Castle locations: Breakfast 5 a.m. – 10 a.m.: $2.99 Breakfast Slider Combo.
April 1 – 30 at Castle locations: BOGO free 1921 Sliders.
Burger King
One of the eclipse-related promotions happening is a true Whopper. On the day of the eclipse – Monday, April 8 – anyone who’s a member of Burger King's Royal Perks loyalty program just needs to text the word ECLIPSE to 251251 to get a special buy-one-get-one-free Whopper.
BJ’s Restaurant
BJ’s April 1 deal is on its Pizookie cookie, but with a twist. On top of the chocolate cookie and ice cream, the chain is adding dill pickle slices to the Pizookie and going for a savory and sweet hookup and handing them (and all the other Pizookie flavors) out for free to anyone who makes a minimum purchase of $14.95.

As you can see, the app is where it’s at for restaurants these days. When you wake up on April 1, make sure to open all of your restaurant apps and see if there’s anything there we may have missed.
