American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 2,539,902 of the following vehicles:
- Model year 2018-2020 Honda Accords, Civic Coupes, Civic Sedans, Civic Hatchbacks, Civic Type Rs, CR-Vs, HR-Vs, Ridgelines, Odysseys, Acura ILXs, MDXs, MDX Hybrids, RDXs, RLXs & TLXs,
- Model year 2019-2020 Honda Insights & Passports,
- Model year 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrids,
- Model year 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEVs & Fits, and
- 2017-2020 Honda Accord Hybrids & Acura NSXs.
The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Failure of the fuel pump can cause an engine stall while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.
What to do
Dealers will replace the fuel pump module free of charge.
Letters to owners notifying them of this issue are expected to be mailed February 5, 2024.
Owners may contact Honda customer service at (888) 234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD.
